Ready, Set, Go! (January 10th Tel-Class)

So the New Year is here…and resolutions were made.

Now the hard part comes into play – how to honor your commitment by staying true to your word.

It would be great if we could achieve our goals without a lot of effort, but we know this is not true.  Setting out to accomplish something means we have to finish what we started – and that means, starting at the beginning and following all the way through to fruition.

It appears that most people get frustrated with their resolutions and give up because they feel they will never get to the end – the final hooray where they can celebrate their victories.  But what most neglect to see is that in order to finish what you started you have to first get the right mind set.

So what do I mean by this?  Well for starters, once you make the conscious decision to make a resolution, it’s time to stop thinking and start acting on it.

Do It Today

Why is it so important to start today? It’s important to start today because putting things off just means that you’re feeding the cycle of making excuses. You can’t actively take part in your life while passively waiting for things to happen for you. Waiting doesn’t accomplish anything, at least not when you’re looking to change your life.

Plus, why would you want to waste even another moment if you can get started on your new and improved life today?

Sometimes we argue that our lives “really” don’t need improvement and that our resolution is  just a “pie in the sky” dream.   Usually we make these excuse when we are not willing to do the work.    Don’t allow complacency and stagnation to take over and destroy your personal advancement.

One of the best ways to get the ball rolling is by starting with a list of the things you want!

  • Maybe you always wanted to take a dance or art class.
  • Maybe you wanted to travel to a specific place or learn another language.
  • Maybe you want to declutter your home or office and get organized.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or depressed, you may want to start with things that would have an immediate impact on your self-esteem which will help boost your confidence level.  Anything that allows you to actively take a step further towards the person you want to be, while making you feel good about the fact that you’re taking action, is a worthwhile activity to engage in.

Set reasonable goals for yourself  and start slowly.  For example:

  • Clean off your desk as the first step rather than organizing the entire office.
  • Purge your dresser drawers first rather than revamping the whole room.
  • Walk around the block to start rather than trying to run a mile.

There’s an old saying – “Good things  come to those who wait.”  But guess what, “Good things come to those who take action.”

Good luck – I know you can do it!

Join Me In The Present

It’s true …

We may regret the things we do at times, but most of us regret what we didn’t do!

As I witness and experience family struggles with my mother’s debilitating Alzheimer’s disease, I can’t help but contemplate my own life and yes, mortality.

I think about things now, that if I am honest with my feelings, were only fleeting moments of thought in the past.

Now, more than ever, I realize how precious life is and how important it is to live in the present time.

Someone very wise told me that learning how to live in the “present” is the greatest gift you can give yourself – that is why they call it a “present.” You become more consciously aware – there becomes a true “presence” about you and life becomes fuller and richer.

A Simple Gift

I came across an article recently that revealed the top 5 things people regret, and I thought about how this intertwines with my philosophy of living simply.

It fascinates me, even to this day, that we as humans work so hard to get ahead in life so we can afford to do the things that we “think” we want, only to find out later, when we are faced with our own mortality, our perspective changes.

What once was so important, no longer rates high or even exists for that matter.

Check out what most people say:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Simplifying our lives allows us the opportunity to focus on what’s really important to us. I view it as a revitalized life purpose plan – because after all, what is life without a true purpose anyway?

Creating more space in our lives – whether that means physical, emotional or mental space affords us the opportunity to be happier and healthier.

What about you? Are you ready to keep things simple and let go of what is no longer serving you well?

Having the courage to be true to ourselves, by exploring our feelings and acknowledging them, may be one of the best gifts we can give to ourselves.

Won’t you join me in the present?

Showing You Some Love…

Life’s Too Short To Be Disorganized…

Wouldn’t you agree?

We should be with people we love…

We should be doing things we love…

We should be enjoying life!

What does clutter have to to do with relationships?

What’s the connection you say?

Well being disorganized doesn’t leave a lot of free time for you to have fun now does it?

Most of us are always trying to “catch up” and may even feel guilty when we engage in other activities, especially when we are thinking we should be home cleaning up or in the office writing that “to-do” list.

When you are spending time with significant others, I want your time to be care-free. Worrying about other things and allowing that to preoccupy your mind when you should be relaxing and having fun is stressful.

I understand how important it is to be able to kick-back and enjoy your time being in the moment, but when your thoughts race to all the things you should be doing instead, well, that’s when the anxiety level kicks in high gear.

So read on to see how I am going to make things easier for you…

Labor of Love

I kicked off the year by offering a series of tele-classes – the first, How To Organize Your Life in the Home and Workplace. I wanted to find a way to help people stay true to their goals to live more simply.  It was a huge success.

Another smashing tele-class was Coping With Change. Here we talked about the many faces of change and how to deal with it in a pro-active way to help minimize the fear.  This class had many ah-ha moments for the participants which helped ease their anxiety.

It is my goal to provide you with practical core models and tools that you can apply into action right away.  These tele-classes are a great way to take a pro-active approach to living simply.

I understand from your feedback that these tele-classes are really make a difference for you and that makes me so happy.

One way to make these tele-classes more accessible for you is to have a built-in retainer so you can pick and choose which classes you would like to listen to.  This way you don’t have to purchase each class separately.

So if this interests you…

You can CLICK here and make a $50.00 deposit into your very own tele-class bank.  When you see a class that interests you, you just send an email and you will be registered.  And in the event you cannot attend live, remember, you still receive the link.  It’s that easy!
