Are You Addicted To Technology?

Check out the below quote from “O MAGAZINE”…

I am addicted to gadgets. Trouble is, I keep forgetting where I put them.
A friend once said, “Our lives are spent in moments–how many of them
do you want to waste looking for your cellphone or BlackBerry?” Finding
a place for everything frees up time to pursue what you really want.–Donna

Can you relate? Of course most of us can.

But what I would like to know is when did we allow technology go govern our day?

Are you interested in learning tips on how to be more balanced out and turn down the noise from outside exposure?

We already have enough noise in our heads, do we really need more?

Acceptance…

Maybe the sign of maturity is understanding that you don’t always get what you want but you get what you need…

and your grateful for it.

What Are You Giving?

“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”

– Sir Winston Churchill

What are you “giving” to improve the quality of your life?

Maybe today it’s a phone call to a long lost friend, a simple smile to a stranger, or a hug to someone special.

Have faith, it will all come back to you.

A Beautiful Prayer …When It All Gets Too Much…

For All My Busy People…

Dear God,

When the day is too busy and the voices too loud, when there is too much on my mind and too little in my heart, when I plan too much for tomorrow and explain too much about yesterday, when I have hidden my true feelings inside and then complained of being lonely and misunderstood, be my good shepherd and my friend.

Gather up my jangled nerves, my tensed muscles, my anxious and fluttering heart.  Send life pulsing through me like an irresistible flood.

But show me how to be quiet, too.  Teach me to be still.  In deep stillness let me rest.  Let silence surround me like a friend, calming me and instructing me with deeper wisdom from within.

When my day is too busy and the voices are all too loud, be my good shepherd and my friend.

Amen

Yet Another Experience In Life…

Someone once said to me…

“Please don’t give up.”

So I didn’t.  Really, I didn’t.  I eventually gave up on him…or should I say “us,” but I certainly did not give up on “ME.”

So maybe that’s the life lesson…

When someone let’s you down that you believe in so deeply, you have no other choice but to reach inside and find out what you are really made of.

Because if you don’t have yourself, who is left?

It doesn’t mean you have to be bitter.  It doesn’t have to become a tug of war.  It can allow for growth and forward movement.

But it’s funny – just when you think there could be no other…no one could possibly touch your soul that deep…someone appears that turns your head, opens your eyes and releases your heart…and just like that…you are free.

Do Your Actions Support Your Intentions?

Recently I was faced with a decision that was difficult for me to make because I truly cared about someone, but I also knew deep down inside that this person was not ready for what I was capable of in terms of a balanced relationship.

My intentions were set from the beginning to meet someone who is “emotionally” available in mind, body and spirit.  Hence, a man appeared from my past that I found myself attracted to.

As time took it’s course, I tried to evaluate whether or not my decision to not go forward was realistic  – was it because I was honoring my intentions – or was it in response to injured feelings of a past hurt.  I had to be clear.

What I found was although my one time “Forever Man” did forever change my life, this also allowed me to see what I could and could not accept in terms of what was healthy for me.

It was nice to have companionship, it was lovely to have someone who thought about me, and it was endearing to be wanted, yet I knew by staying, I would not support my intentions of a long lasting, loving relationship.

He thought he was ready, I knew he wanted to be ready.  There was the difference.

What about you?  Are your actions in alignment with what you desire?  Are you being true to yourself, no  matter how fearful it is or how much it hurts?

But to my amazement, Someday is finally here!

Can you identify with this? What have you been putting off over and over – thinking you will get to it “some day.”

And then that “some day” shows up and you have nothing to show for it except a bunch of stuff that was never attended to.
