Ready to simplify and give up all that “stuff?”

Today I received an email from Neale Donald Walsch. The point of the message was to reassure us that we all have the ability to rewrite our life story.

In other words, it’s okay to give up our past.

How often do we get locked up in our old experiences and think that we have to live that story out – all that “stuff” that has nothing to do with who we are now.

Not only is it unhealthy, but it keeps us stuck and prevents us from living out our greatness.

In case you are not familiar with Neale, he is an International Best Selling Author who’s books are inspired by God.

Here’s a picture of us:

The email reminded me once again why so many people struggle with clutter.

Clutter is just an outward manifestation of what we are continually telling ourselves – the drama, the disappointment, the pain of our messy life experiences.

The reason why people have clutter is because they are stuck in their story!

But there is a way out!  And there is a new story just waiting to be told.

I explain all of this in detail and show you exactly how to let go and re-write a new story, step-by-step, with The Keep It Simple Now System.™ People are raving about it because they are getting results –  and I know you will too!

Are you ready to get unstuck and simplify your life?  I hope so – I truly do!

You can learn how to do that by clicking on the link below. (You’ll see all the juicy testimonials inside.)

Why Clutter Exists and What It’s Trying To Tell You

There’s a question that stumps many people when I ask them: What is your clutter trying to tell you?

But before we get into answering that, let’s take a look at some of the reasons why you might have clutter to begin with.

Clutter usually starts when there is a significant life change. Examples may include a health setback, a death, loss of a relationship, a change in career, financial burden, and so on.

These life changes can impact a person and can trigger a range of emotions such as feeling anxious, depressed, sad, angry, frustrated, overwhelmed, stressed, etc.

Over time, if we do not deal with our emotions, they can activate a cycle of hopelessness and feeling stuck in life, all of which lead to a breakdown of the human spirit.

When the human spirit is compromised, it is only natural that inward feelings will be expressed outwardly, which we refer to as manifesting. For some, this outward manifestation means clutter.

Now, if we go back to the original question—What is your clutter trying to tell you?—and follow the trail of your clutter’s origin, the answer becomes more obvious. Perhaps there are some unresolved emotions and frustrations in your life that you haven’t dealt with. Take a close look at your life and the places where a life change may be manifesting as clutter.

Everyone’s clutter signifies something different. It’s important to understand how yours originated so you can begin to recognize some of the unresolved areas in your life that still need healing.

Healing your past pains is a crucial part of creating a life of joy and peace now. And once you can break out of your cycle of pain, anger, or hopelessness, you may find it becomes easier to reassess your clutter and see it for what it truly is.

Simplicity Is A Sign Of Growth

“Going Back To A Simpler Life Is Not A Step Backward” – Yvon Chouinard

The implication of this quote is that achieving a simpler life is not  a reflection of failure because you are releasing your stuff.  In fact, letting go is a sign of growth and can help balance out your body, mind & environment.  How so you may ask?   Because making the choice to “let go” allows you to move forward with life.  This is a healthy decision.  The process then of letting go improves your overall wellness.

It takes courage to simplify one’s life and be free of things you may have considered important or special at one time.  Recognizing that your things may no longer be serving you (and can actually be holding you back from living life to the fullest) is a true sign of personal growth. There’s a lot to be said about a person who can relinquish the old and welcome the new – even if they aren’t sure what that may look like.

I see way too often people who struggle with the notion that “letting go” is somehow a sign of weakness. This can be to their detriment as it propels them into a chronic state of fear because they feel as if they are “losing” or “giving up” something. But you see there is no loss with simplicity. Simplicity offers freedom of all that was but no longer is. So how can one lose when one becomes free? You simply cannot.

The process of purging one’s life is powerful. A process fully embellished with tender moments of self-discovery. It’s as if you get to experience your very own internal treasure hunt.  Tell me, what’s more beautiful than that?

If you are looking for ways to simplify and balance out your life, my book Organically Yours will be a great read for you.

Are You Still Holding On?

Are you still holding on to old ways yet yearning for a new way?  Think about that for a moment…yes, yes, think about that.
Holding On & Letting Go

Let me help you simplify this in the bigger picture, so to speak.Neale Donald Walsch said this and I believe he is spot on…He said,

“That yearning for a new way will not produce it.  Only ending the old way can do that.

You cannot hold onto the old all the while declaring that you want something new.

The old will defy the new;
the old will deny the new;
the old will decry the new.

There is only one way to bring in the new.

You must make room for it.”

Allow me to share something with you if I may…You see, I know what it feels like to let go.  I believe it’s a very intimate process one experiences when they release and end something.I also recognize that it can be difficult for people to let go or end something because they are fearful of the unknown.  They are not sure of what their outcome will be and worry if it will be better, worse, or if they will end up regretting their decision.

So inevitably they do nothing.

But what most people don’t realize is that not to decide is to decide.  You are deciding to do nothing – so it’s still a decision.

Ask yourself:

  • What are you deciding right now by not deciding?
  • What are you choosing by failing to choose?

As Jack Canfield suggests:

“Sometimes people stay stuck because they fall into a dangerous trap of settling for less than they deserve in the name of gratitude.”

Here are some examples:
“Rather than taking action and asking for a raise… they say, “Well, I should be grateful I have a job.”

“Rather than taking action and asking for what they want in a relationship… they say, “Well, I should be grateful that my partner is faithful.”

“Rather than taking action and looking for a bigger house… they say, “Well, I should be grateful that I have a house when so many people don’t.”

Here’s the thing, friends…

  • Wanting more doesn’t mean that you’re ungrateful or greedy.
  • Letting go and releasing the old allows for a grander, better life.
  • Making room for the new creates the opportunity for you to express and demonstrate your higher self.

It is time now.  It’s time to make a decision.  You don’t want to live your life by default, do you?  Here is your signal – take it!

Simplicity Is A Sign Of Growth

“Going Back To A Simpler Life Is Not A Step Backward” – Yvon Chouinard said that and he was right.

Simplicity Is A Sign Of Growth
It’s important to understand that “letting go” is part of the process of going back to a simpler life.  It is not in any way a reflection of you failing to achieve or hold onto “something.”  That’s not what we are talking about here.

It takes courage to simplify one’s life.  Did you hear that?  It takes courage to simplify one’s life.  Real courage to “let go” and be free of the things you may have considered important or special at one time.

Recognizing that your “things” may no longer be serving you (and can actually be holding you back from living life to the fullest) is a true sign of personal growth.  There’s a lot to be said about a person who can relinquish the old and welcome the new; even if they aren’t sure what that may look like.

I see way too often people who struggle with the notion that “letting go” is somehow a sign of weakness or giving up.  This can be to their detriment as it propels them into a perpetual state of fear because they simply cannot bear the thought they may be “losing.”  But you see there is no loss with simplicity. Simplicity offers freedom of all that was but no longer is.  So how can one lose when one becomes free?  You simply cannot.

The process of purging one’s life is powerful.  A process fully embellished with tender moments of self-discovery.  An internal treasure hunt if you please.

Tell me, what’s more beautiful than that?

Join Me In The Present

It’s true …

We may regret the things we do at times, but most of us regret what we didn’t do!

As I witness and experience family struggles with my mother’s debilitating Alzheimer’s disease, I can’t help but contemplate my own life and yes, mortality.

I think about things now, that if I am honest with my feelings, were only fleeting moments of thought in the past.

Now, more than ever, I realize how precious life is and how important it is to live in the present time.

Someone very wise told me that learning how to live in the “present” is the greatest gift you can give yourself – that is why they call it a “present.” You become more consciously aware – there becomes a true “presence” about you and life becomes fuller and richer.

A Simple Gift

I came across an article recently that revealed the top 5 things people regret, and I thought about how this intertwines with my philosophy of living simply.

It fascinates me, even to this day, that we as humans work so hard to get ahead in life so we can afford to do the things that we “think” we want, only to find out later, when we are faced with our own mortality, our perspective changes.

What once was so important, no longer rates high or even exists for that matter.

Check out what most people say:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Simplifying our lives allows us the opportunity to focus on what’s really important to us. I view it as a revitalized life purpose plan – because after all, what is life without a true purpose anyway?

Creating more space in our lives – whether that means physical, emotional or mental space affords us the opportunity to be happier and healthier.

What about you? Are you ready to keep things simple and let go of what is no longer serving you well?

Having the courage to be true to ourselves, by exploring our feelings and acknowledging them, may be one of the best gifts we can give to ourselves.

Won’t you join me in the present?
