The Energy of Our Environment: Lessons from an Energy Activation Retreat

The Space Around Us, The Energy Within

I recently attended a powerful two-day virtual retreat focused on activating and leveling up energy. Throughout the experience, one theme kept surfacing: our environment deeply influences our energy—not just the physical spaces we occupy but also the people we surround ourselves with and the emotions we carry.

We often think of energy in terms of movement, motivation, or mindfulness, but rarely do we pause to consider how our surroundings impact our vibration. During the retreat, we were encouraged to reflect on the spaces we inhabit daily and how they make us feel. Is your home or workspace uplifting, or does it drain you? Are the people in your life supporting your growth, or do they pull you into old patterns?

I’ve always believed that the things we keep hold energy. Objects, like relationships, can either support our well-being or keep us stuck. A sentimental item can bring comfort, but too much clutter—physical or emotional—creates stagnant energy. It was a powerful reminder that when we clear our space, we clear our mind.

When Emotions Rise to the Surface

Another theme that kept coming up was the importance of feelings. So often, we suppress our emotions or fill our lives with distractions to avoid them. But as we worked through exercises to raise our vibration, emotions naturally surfaced. It became clear that clutter—whether in our minds, emotions, or physical space—often masks deeper issues. Letting go of what no longer serves us isn’t just about organization; it’s about acknowledging what we’ve been holding onto and why.

One of the most profound realizations was how often people equate simplicity with loss—as if releasing something means giving up or going without. But in truth, simplicity is about making space for what truly matters. It’s not about deprivation; it’s about alignment. When we let go of what no longer supports us, we create room for new opportunities, deeper connections, and more peace in our daily lives.

Creating Space for Clarity and Flow

As I reflected on these lessons, I realized how much they align with my approach to intentional living. When we become more mindful of our surroundings and relationships, we can make choices that support our energy rather than deplete it. Simplicity isn’t about having less—it’s about having more of what nourishes us and removing what doesn’t.

This experience reminded me that the energy around us is within our control. By making small shifts in our space, relationships, and mindset, we can create an environment that uplifts us rather than weighs us down.

Take a moment to reflect: What in your surroundings lifts your energy? What drains it? Awareness is the first step toward transformation.

I’d love to hear your thoughts—have you ever noticed how your environment affects your energy? Let’s continue the conversation.
