Intentional Living in the Redwoods: A Personal Reflection from Canyon Ranch

A Fireside Chat for P.O. Confidential

I just returned from a soul-nourishing experience at Canyon Ranch in Woodside, CA, where I had the privilege of presenting a four-part series based on P.O. Confidential. Surrounded by towering redwoods and quiet stillness, the setting was the perfect backdrop for deep conversations about what it truly means to live with intention.

The program was thoughtfully designed to unfold over four sessions:

  • A Meet and Greet, where we laid the foundation for meaningful dialogue.
  • Two core discussions exploring Chapters 1–6 and 7–12, where the stories in the book came to life.
  • And a heartfelt Closing Ceremony, where we brought it all together.

We explored the concept of intentional living and how it intersects with simplicity—not as a sacrifice or a stripping away, but as a powerful choice. What if simple living isn’t about having less… but about having more? More peace. More clarity. More alignment with your values and your moral compass. It’s about creating a life that reflects who you truly are—authentic, present, and free.

Simple doesn’t always mean decluttering your home (though that helps). It means clearing the mental noise, releasing emotional clutter, and choosing to live life on your own terms. That’s intentional living. That’s happiness.

The response from attendees was deeply moving. They loved the stories—stories filled with resilience, humanity, and hope. Many said they felt seen and understood. That’s the beauty of P.O. Confidential: it’s not just about organizing stuff—it’s about organizing your life from the inside out.

This retreat reminded all of us to slow down, reconnect with nature, and remember what truly matters. As I watched the sunrise from my peaceful treehouse nestled in the woods, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The quiet evenings, birdsong in the morning, and stillness in between offered me the perfect reset.

I’m so thankful for this opportunity, and I can’t recommend Canyon Ranch Woodside enough. Its gentle beauty and nurturing environment were the perfect companions to the message of Keep It Simple Now.

Until next time—
Patricia
