TOP 3 BENEFITS OF LIVING AN ORGANIZED LIFE

Top 3 Benefits of Living An Organized Life

1. Decreases Stress
Not having clutter around reduces your worry and anxiety. Next time guests drop by you don’t have to panic and scramble to hide things.

2.You Can Breathe Easier
Living without clutter is good for your health. Excessive clutter may contain mold and other toxins that can complicate health issues and cause breathing problems.

3.Clears Your Mind
A clutter-free environment frees yours mind and aids in focus and concentration. Clutter causes chaos and can interfere with your brain’s ability to process information.

The Benefits Of Making Clutter A Top Priority

Here’s a little secret you need to know if you’ve been trying to win the war on clutter.

The key to overcoming your clutter challenge has a lot to do with follow-through. And the only way you will be able to do that is if you make it a priority.  Plain and Simple.

A thing that is regarded as more important than another.
(i.e., that thing is your clutter)

Saying something is important and then choosing to do something else is a conflict of interest. So saying you want to be clutter free, yet not making it important enough to make it a priority, will not cure your clutter.

So what to do, what to do….

First we need to understand why making something a priority helps us.

Here’s 4 Good Reasons:

1. It helps us organize our time
2. It helps us make daily choices that reflect our values
3. It helps us set boundaries with others
4. It helps reduce stress

Knowing something and implementing it is another story though, right? I get it. Especially when so many other “things” pop up.

But this is when you need to get real with your situation. How important is being clutter free to you? So the next time you’re in the “throws” of decluttering and something else feels like it’s taking precedence over being clutter free, ask yourself this:

If I say yes to this, what am I saying no to?

Now really think about this. Because you’re saying “no” to so much more than an organized space.  You’re saying no to saving yourself time, reducing your stress, honoring your values and establishing good boundaries for yourself. Yes?

Life can be busy and at times it feels as if we are being pulled in too many different directions. But if you can honestly answer the above question it can work wonders and help you keep things in perspective.

I think you get the idea!

Here’s to saying YES to living an organized life – for good!

Clutter & Stress In The Workplace

Messy homes and work spaces leave us feeling anxious, helpless, and overwhelmed. Yet, rarely is clutter recognized as a significant source of stress in our lives.

Why is that?

When dirty dishes are piled, laundry overflows and your belongings are scattered about, your stress level rises. Trust me when I tell you, clutter & stress is real.  If you don’t think so, just take a look at what a survey revealed from HuffPost:

“Eighty-four percent of recently stressed Americans say they worry that their home isn’t clean or organized enough, and within that group, 55 percent called it out as a source of recent stress. Home organization was as much of a stress trigger for recently-stressed Americans as unexpected expenses (also 47 percent), as well as not having enough time for loved ones (46 percent) and not having enough time to yourself (45 percent). Getting dinner on the table was another source of domestic stress, with 33 percent saying that trying to cook healthy meals was a source of worry.”

So what is clutter?

The Feng Shui definition for clutter is “postponed decisions” That means, what you accumulate, where you put it, and why you keep it, says a lot about you.  Another way of stating clutter is what I have maintained throughout my career – “Your clutter is an outward manifestation of what you are struggling with internally.”

Setting aside for a moment, the cause of the actual clutter, the fact still remains the same – it is stressful and people are showing up to work stressed out.  So tell me, how can this not affect overall productivity?  It absolutely does!

It’s time we started talking about the affects of clutter and get people support in the workplace.

Having a wellness program that can help people establish BEST PRACTICES  for clutter control is not only needed but  it is our responsibility for the welfare of people who are struggling.  We already know that stress is inflammatory, which breaks down the body and the mind.  Just this fact alone clearly demonstrates how a breakdown in the workplace can happen when a person is under the influence of clutter.

The act of purging & cleaning helps blow off steam when the pressure of clutter is mounting.  The benefit is with the little exercise you can get from running up and down the stairs, carrying items from room to room, and dusting, washing & vacuuming floors, it can release endorphins.

Although this is one strategy that can be introduced for stress reduction, it is not the cure for clutter.  Clutter requires an in-depth look and assessment of why the clutter has manifested in the first place so you can help the person get to the root cause of their clutter.  It is here the healing begins.

If we want people to show up in the workplace and be productive and healthy, then we need to establish a wellness initiative that starts addressing the issues of clutter.  I, for one, believe that it can transform people’s lives simply due to one major reason – there’s a lot of shame and guilt associated with clutter.  To have the workplace become a safe environment for people to discuss their clutter challenges is the first step toward productive change.

6 Mindful Tools to Organized Living is a program I developed that has 20+ years of my experience wrapped into it.  It has been refined and tweaked to where it is a process that identifies a person’s clutter so they can understand their manifestation.  Implementing best practice strategies to create a healthy body and mind and avoid obstacles that may be sabotaging their organizing efforts is an enormous factor in overcoming clutter. As well as having a tool box of strategies and a bullet-proof plan.

I would love to introduce this program into your workplace and show you just how impactful it can be for you and your team.  Please email me to get started at [email protected]

For The Busy Entrepreneur

From one entrepreneur to another, does all the time you put into growing your business ever overwhelm you to the point where you feel stressed, burnt out, disorganized, and cluttered?

I was there not too long ago myself. In fact, my daughter was constantly chastising me for never getting up from my desk and giving myself a break. “Mom, unglue yourself for a while,” she’d say. “Give yourself time to replenish and reboot,” she’d say. But did I listen? No. Then I had a health crisis that I couldn’t ignore because it was speaking to me loud and clear.

Through that experience (and much by default!), I learned some difficult, yet extremely valuable lessons that have put me in a completely different spot today. For instance, I discovered that I needed to make my health and wellness a top priority or I would certainly lose them both. I also learned the value behind nourishing my body, keeping a positive attitude, and staying organized in my environment – no matter where I was in the business process – so I could be the best coach, speaker and mom that I could be!

If you’re interested in learning how you can implement these same types of strategies in your life, giving you some much-needed peace (and energy) as a busy entrepreneur, I’d love to jump on the phone for a few minutes and chat.

Why am I reaching out to my fellow business owners? Because I’m on a serious mission to help as many people as possible in my profession so they don’t find themselves in the same position I was…where their career is impacting their health.

Even if you’re hesitant, unsure whether this is the right path for you, well, heck, get with me anyway and let’s brainstorm all of your options! If a customized coaching program will help, great! Let’s set it up! If not, then let’s figure out what will help and get you started on it right away so you start to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally!

If you’re ready to change your life (and your health), just email me @ [email protected] and we’ll schedule a call.

And if I don’t hear from you, I understand and wish you a long and super-successful career! Just take care of yourself…before someone else has to take care of you!

Does Your Home Feel Inviting To Guests?

Does your home feel inviting to guests? A fresh, free environment says to me, ‘Welcome to our home…come on in and sit a spell.’

Having a home where we can easily find our things, that is aesthetically pleasing and we feel proud to live in, does wonders for our well-being.

It’s not about having a perfect home (there’s no such thing). It is however about bringing out the best in ourselves so we live freely and comfortably in our dwelling. Doing our best to create a neat and tidy environment is clean, healthy living at its best. Add green plants, organic natural products and air purifiers and- well, maybe ‘perfect’ isn’t that far out of reach.

It has been proven that a messy, disorganized home creates mental stress. This puts additional stress on our body. When our home is functional, it makes it much easier to keep our mind in a positive place. Staying in a healthy mindset helps us carve out the time to nourish our body and get proper rest.

Did this post intrigue you?  To learn more about how you can have a fresh, free environment grab a copy of my new book, Organically Yours: Open Yourself To A Vibrant Healthy Life Through Clean Living.  For only $1.00 plus S&H you can get it delivered straight to your home and begin decluttering right away.

IS THERE REALLY A CURE FOR MODERN STRESS?

Modern Stress is real.  We all experience it from time to time – perhaps even more than we care to admit. Too much stress can impact our heart, brain and nervous system. So I think this begs the question, ” How do we combat our immediate stress?” Do we impulsively reach for a glass of wine, bag of chips or box of cookies? Sure, I think it’s fair to say that we have all found ourselves in this position before. It may give us temporary comfort, but it doesn’t really solve the problem. Actually, it has been my experience that stress eating actually makes things worse.

The truth is that exercise is a great way to ward off stress and protect our body and mind. Not all of us are created equal here though. What I mean by that is, not everyone wakes up in the morning and says, ‘Yes! I get to exercise today!” But the benefits to exercise are amazing because it keeps our bones strong, increases our body’s flexibility, improves muscle strength, boosts our endurance, helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to our tissues, and strengthens our cardiovascular system.

I think the real answer to solving our stress is finding a healthy outlet that we can identify with. Something enjoyable that perhaps as a child we loved to do but have lost along our way. For example, if you loved dancing or bike riding as a kid try it now. Register for a dance class or find a bike club to ride with fellow bikers. You may have been fond of the water growing up and want to try rowing or paddle boarding. Even if you are not sure about what you really like, then experiment. But try to find something that will keep you active.

If you are still having trouble finding a healthy outlet to ward off stress, then read my new book, “Organically Yours” which takes you on my journey to clean living starting with the health crisis that inspired me to change my lifestyle. Clean eating helped me gain control over my life again and “Organically Yours” can help you, too.

IS DECLUTTERING GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH?

There’s a certain connotation the word declutter brings to mind – don’t you think? For me it evokes a feeling of freedom. I personally don’t operate well when I have clutter around me. So anything I can do to get myself on track quickly helps not just with my immediate surroundings, but it makes my mind clearer and focused. My attitude starts to shift and I feel more energy.  Here are three good reasons why decluttering is a healthy choice.

3 Reasons Why Decluttering Is Healthy:

1. You Can Decrease Stress; not having clutter around reduces your worry and anxiety. Next time your have unannounced guests, you don’t have to fret and scramble to hide things before letting them in. Just knowing your place is environmentally friendly is a load off the old noggin.

2. You Can Breathe Easier; regular household dust is enough to deal with. But excessive clutter may contain mold, and other toxins that can complicate health issues further, especially if you have asthma or other breathing problems.

3. You Can Clear Your Mind; did you know that clutter can actually interfere with your brain’s ability to process information. Think about it. Clutter is akin to chaos. Studies have proven that chaos restricts our ability to focus. When we are in a a clutter-free space we experience more energy and productivity.

Did you find the above information helpful? If so, you will enjoy my new book,
