Wednesday Wellness – Tips For Clean Living

Did you know that every morning you wake up to a reality vision board?

Think about this. Your home, is your creation. It is your vision in real life.

So if you are pleased with your environment that you live in, good for you. If not, then change it.

You see, we do manifest outwardly from the inside (the way we think and feel). Your living space is a good barometer check for what is going on internally. Take a good look at the way you are living. There are clues there.

When Decluttering Evokes Painful Memories

When Decluttering Evokes Painful Memories

Although there is a sense of rebirth and freedom when decluttering your life – it is not always an easy process for someone who is grieving. There are many reasons why we may grieve; divorce or relationship break-up, empty nest, loss of a career, illness or death.

Sometimes we can unearth memories while decluttering which can be extremely emotional and trigger old wounds. When this happens, it can cause us to pause and reflect for awhile. Depending upon the severity of the grief will determine how much time is needed to get back on track.

In some circumstances, a grieving person will choose to declutter ruthlessly in an attempt to remove the pain caused by the loss. The thought is…better to be gone with it than to face a constant reminder of what I lost. While for others, the very onset of decluttering is like living the loss all over again and they become immobilized.

I offer strategies on how to cope with decluttering and grief in my book, Organically Yours; Open Yourself to a Vibrant Healthy Life.   If you or a loved one is struggling with grief, perhaps the book may be helpful. If you would prefer to get personalized help, please connect with me here.

WEDNESDAY WELLNESS – TIPS FOR CLEAN LIVING

I would like to share a quote from my book Organically Yours.

It brings me peace.  I hope it does the same for you.

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past,
not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles,
but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
~ Siddhartha Gautama Buddha

1 Major Reason To Eat Salad Daily

Listen, I can give you all the top reasons why you should eat salad. And tell you that by making just one simple change to your diet it can pay off with plenty of health benefits. But unless you have been living underneath a rock for a very long time, you know all of this.

For instance, I’m sure you are aware that a bountiful salad is a convenient way to work in a couple servings of vegetables and fruit and is a good healthy habit to form. Especially if you have difficulty eating your veggies separately.

You probably also know that a salad provides you with the fiber that your body needs to help avoid constipation and lowering your cholesterol. And I’m betting you’ve heard that for years, research has shown that by eating a healthy dose of fruits and vegetables it can minimize your risk of many diseases, including cancer.

Not to mention that if your goal is to lose weight, well, a salad a day will certainly help with that as long as you don’t over do the fatty add-ons. Eating a little good fat is actually smart, such as olive oil, avocado and nuts.

I like to mix up my salads for the variety of taste and texture, but usually it is comprised of organic kale, baby arugula, baby spinach, pea or broccoli sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, asparagus, avocado, apple and tangerine slices, almonds, walnuts, choice of seeds… mixed all together with a little extra virgin olive oil and apple cider…with a sprinkle of sea salt.

Oh, and at this point, I’m also sure that you know that by eating a salad everyday with a generous amount of omega-3 foods keeps your brain healthy. And with the rise of dementia and Alzheimer’s this is vital to ensuring good health.

But let’s get back to the topic at hand… the  1 major reason why you should eat a daily salad.

Beyond how a salad can boost your body to wellness it can do something else for you. Studies have shown that by eating a salad a day it can actually keep you young and vibrant and reduce the aging process. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that pretty much the majority of the population will buy into this. Who doesn’t want to have supple skin, clear eyes, silky hair and stronger joints…?

I’m betting that there is also at least one person who wants to see you not only look and feel gorgeous but they want you to be around for a very long time. And this is because they care about you. Do yourself and your loved ones a huge favor – eat your daily salad.

Trust me, you’ll be happy you did!

Eat your vegetables raw or slightly steamed at most. Why raw foods?
There is a presence of a beneficial antioxidant, “Quercetin” that is found in fruits and vegetables. You can also juice them. If this concept is new to you, then try it at least one day per week to get used to it.
Remember:
Hard boiling and deep frying removes most of the nutrients in your food, including Quercetin.

The Health Benefits of an Alkaline Diet

The Health Benefits of an Alkaline Diet

Did you know that our pH level plays and important part in our health? pH stands for ‘potential of hydrogen’ and it indicates the level of acidity or alkalinity in our body.

pH is measured on a scale of 0-14. The number 7 is considered neutral. The lower the number is below seven, the more acidic – the higher the number is above seven, the more alkaline.

A healthy human body fluid should sit at a 7.4 which is slightly alkaline. A few areas, like the stomach, are very acidic, but most of the body should be alkaline. It only takes a small amount of acidity over a prolonged period of time to see deterioration.

Here Is The Issue:

Most of us have acidic bodies. When our bodies have a pH under 7, it ages us faster, puts more stress on our vital organs, we lose tissue and bone mass, and it robs our body of vital nutrients.

Here Is The Good News:

During the 3 Hallmarks of Wellness Event you will be given solutions to combat the damaging effects of an acidic body and alternatively discover the super food plans that help produce an alkaline, healthy body.

This is the event that can possibly change your health and so much more. I urge you to register now so you can take advantage of the early bird discount while it’s still available.

Please Don’t Stress

Modern stress is a very real thing. What this means is that modern life has created stress that most of us find overwhelming. This new stress comes from:

Technology which causes us to be continually “connected” – so we’re never turned “off.”
Work-Life balance issues – i.e., trying to do too much and prioritizing it all.
Continual Stimulation – we are on overload from air, noise and visual pollution – it takes a toll on our brain power.

The real problem with all of this is that stress is inflammatory. So when we have inflammation circulating throughout our body we are in a state of dis-ease. If we do not learn how to manage our stress in positive ways, ultimately this can break us down and lead to chronic health conditions.

Studies have also shown that when we are in constant stress – we outwardly manifest what we are internalizing – thus many people experience clutter in their environment.

In my upcoming event, 3 Hallmarks of Wellness, we will be covering Modern Stress and similar topics that are of true concern. Learning how to cope and manage stress is paramount to our well-being.

That’s why in this workshop, I will be personally guiding you through the 3 Hallmarks of Wellness so you can experience first-hand how to learn how to deal with some of these real life issues we face today.

The Paper Cut Theory

What happens when you go off your food plan? Or when you fall off your schedule? That was one of my biggest concerns when I first started changing the course of my diet and daily routine.

I was concerned about giving into tempting foods that I knew caused inflammation. I was worried if I broke my sleeping ritual that my body wouldn’t have the strength to fight back.

Then I learned about The Paper Cut Theory.

Think of a time when you flipped through the pages of a book and got a paper cut. The sting is an ever-present, annoying distraction. But usually within 48 hours you don’t even notice that it’s there anymore.

When you are healthy and you go off your plan, it is similar to a paper cut, but as long as you quickly go back to what you are supposed to be doing, it is not going to have an effect on your overall health.

Don’t beat yourself up about it, a break from your diet or routine is not a disaster. Being able to recognize a break and returning to the Clean Living process is part of developing a Forward Thinking Mind.

I will be teaching you a lot about the Paper Cut Theory and so much more at my upcoming event:
